We approach our publication design projects by first developing stylistic motifs and creating a structure which acts as a foundation of expression for the content. From this foundation we strike a balance between imagery and text, producing a rhythm that guides the reader through the publication, highlighting key points along the way.
The functional aspect of publications requires us to be mindful of how a publication will be used, how it’s held, the context in which it is read, and its required durability among other important features. All of these inform design choices that dictate style and format. A good publication has its physical form lock step with its content, fulfilling the functional purpose so effortlessly that it dissolves away leaving only the content to be absorbed.
